Our School Stories

Geelong Grammar School (GGS) based in the city of Geelong, southwest of Melbourne has a long history with positive psychology, pioneering many innovative programs to embed positive psychology in their teaching. To enhance wellbeing and performance outcomes for their students and whole school community, in 2021 The Positivity Institute collaborated with GGS to bring to life the strategic vision for embedding a coaching culture at the school.

Perth College is one of the oldest independent girls’ schools in Western Australia, and one of many schools founded worldwide by the Community of the Sisters of the Church, an Anglican religious order established in 1870.

From the very beginning, Perth College was determined to do things differently and challenge accepted ideas about what women could do. A strong belief system was born: that women should work hard to make the most of their opportunities and use these advantages to make a difference.

Mt St Michael’s, a Catholic secondary school in Ashgrove, Queensland, catering to students in Years 7-12, is affiliated with Mary Aikenhead Ministries. Focused on fostering a love for learning, the college emphasises instilling core values of Hope, Justice, Love, and Compassion in their students. In 2020, the college enlisted The Positivity Institute to support their newly elected Student Leadership Team. Acknowledging the challenges posed by the ongoing Covid pandemic, especially for the upcoming Year 12 students, the college aimed to enhance the team’s effectiveness by integrating Positive Psychology practices into their leadership development, aligning with their strategic plan and existing Positive Education program.
